Gary NateAward-winning filmmaker and photographer, Gary Nate has over 30 years’ experience directing and filming high adventure mountain and steep Skiing films. In 1972 he organized RPN Productions, serving as President. He shot, directed, edited, and produced ‘Skiers to Match the Mountains’ featuring several ski legends including Stein Erikson, Dean Perkins, Bob Burns as well as guest appearances by Robert Redford and Paul Newman.
For 30 years he was one of the main directors and cinematographers for Warren Miller Films. Has also filmed many other Producers such as Dick Barrymore, Lode Star, Sig Shore, Roffe-Demetre, The Ski Co., US Air Force, Sims Snowboards, Greg Stump, National Geographic, Healthrider, Nissan, Audi, and Jeep just to name a few.
Gary earned a Bachelor degree in Business while attending the University of Utah on a football scholarship as well as a Secondary Teaching Certificate and later an MBA. He taught and coached football in the Ogden School District.
He also recruited engineers, mathematicians, scientists, and management trainees for Hill AFB and taught motivation theory to top managers under Fredrick Herzberg from the University of Utah.
Gary’s films have been featured on That’s Incredible, Cheers, Real People, Ripley’s, John Denver Specials, Tonight Show, Good Morning America, Touched By An Angel, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous in addition to 30 full length feature films for Warren Miller.
Gary currently lives in Ogden, Utah. He is the honorary Mayor of Dingle Idaho and is still filming and taking people on adventures with Trips Travel Agency.
