Dean Perkins

Dean began skiing at the age of sixteen in Ogden, Utah. At 18 years old he moved to Idaho to work and ski. Dean was chosen to represent the 1950 United States (F.I.S.) World Cup ski team in the U.S. downhill and Slalom and was a forerunner in the Giant Slalom.

In 1952 Dean skied for U.S. army ski team and won the European Alpine championships (EUCOM) 1st DII 3rd SLA for combined, this was the Championships for the army, navy, Marine Corp, and air force personal stationed in Europe. He skied with the U.S Olympic ski team in 1952.

Dean has enjoyed many other sports including; motorcycle racing, tennis, mountain climbing, water skiing, sport car racing, golf, power boating, and flying planes.

Dean opened Ogden’s Mountain climbing retail store and was an instructor of rock climbing for 18 years. Dean founded a mountain climbing school and the Ogden Standard Examiner Jr. Ski School in nine states. Dean also worked for Roffe and Demetre ski wear.
